Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos was left impressed with his side following their goalless draw against Guinea.

South Africa returned to action for the first time since their controversial Fifa 2022 World Cup Qualifier loss against Ghana back in November 2021 earlier this evening.

Despite creating a number of chances, Bafana somehow failed to find the back of the net with the likes of Lyle Foster, Keagan Dolly, Evidence Makgopa, Bandile Shandu and Thabang Monare squandering golden chances.

Despite the draw feeling like somewhat of a loss due to the numerous missed chances, Hugo Broos was left impressed with the overall performance of Bafana Bafana.

Bafana should’ve won the match – Hugo Broos

“It was a good performance, we asked that of the players for the two friendly games.” Bafana head coach Hugo Broos said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“So the result is not so important even though we would’ve liked to win today but okay I think our team played a very good game.

“We created six or seven chances, so when there was a team that should have won today it’s South Africa.

“We had a little problem when you see the tall guys of Guinea that was sometimes a problem with the aerial duels but on the football level Bafana played a good game, I’m very happy with the performance.

“It’s always nice to come back to your country and if your team gives a performance like this that Bafana gave tonight, it’s always nice to come back.”
