Bafana Bafana went down 1-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana on Sunday night courtesy of a dubious penalty kick however the defeat didn’t sit well with the former Orlando Pirates star.

Vilakazi has called Hugo Broos out for ‘giving the match away to Ghana’ due to ‘poor planning’. Take a look at his scathing analysis of what transpired at the Cape Coast Stadium below.

Hugo Broos gave the match away – Former Orlando Pirates captain

“I’m very disappointed because we had it in our hands, but we gave it away. Ghana were there for the taking but we did not have a plan to beat them. I don’t know if we will have a chance like this in the future,” the former Orlando Pirates captain said on iDiski TV.

“Hugo Broos’ plan was not right for this game. I mean, you can’t start with (Ethan) Brooks in a game of this magnitude. He (Brooks) still has a long way to go before he is ready to start games like this. Looking at Thibang Phete as well. He has the experience and he is playing overseas, but he was exposed in some situations.

“Broos had poor planning. We played against Ghana here in South Africa and we saw how poor they are. We should have won that game by two to three goals, but that didn’t happen.” the ex Orlando Pirates star added.

“We played long balls forward and Ghana were waiting for us to come at them and we made it easy for them. In the second half, Broos should have taken Brooks and Phete out and replaced them with (Mduduzi) Mdantsane and (Keagan) Dolly. I mean, we were a goal down and we had nothing to lose.

“Why did Dolly not start the game? Why did he start with Phete in the central midfield when he saw how badly he played there against Zimbabwe? The coach coach gave the match away to Ghana in my opinion,” the Orlando Pirates legend concluded.

SAFA have since confirmed that they’ll be lodging an official complaint to FIFA and CAF over the controversial performance of Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye and his colleagues Samba Elhadji Malick, Camara Djibril and Gueye Daouda.
