SAFA had lodged an official complaint after Bafana Bafana lost 1-0 in Ghana to the Black Stars.

As a result, Ghana topped Group G and progressed to the next stage of qualifying.

SAFA understandably were not happy, in particular with the performance of Senegal referee Maguette Ndiaye.

SAFA suggested Ndiaye was guilty of alleged match manipulation.

The comprehensive complaint submitted to the world’s governing body by SAFA included a breakdown of Ndiaye’s decisions.

However, in delivering its verdict, FIFA declared the protest as inadmissible.

Bafana Bafana last played in the 2010 Soccer World Cup when they ‘qualified’ as hosts. The last time they actually successfully qualified for a World Cup was back in 2002 in South Korea and Japan.

FIFA gave SAFA 10 days within which to appeal

FIFA’s documented response has now been revealed, according to Kickoff.

“In revealing its decision FIFA said: to Declare the protest lodged by the South African Football Association on 15 November 2021 inadmissible.

“The judicial bodies may decide not to communicate the grounds of a decision and instead communicate only the terms of the decision. The parties have ten days from receipt of the terms of the decision to request, in writing, the grounds of the decision, and that failure to do so will result in the decision becoming final and binding (art. 51 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code),” the statement read.

As the statement mentions, SAFA has 10 days to appeal.

At the time of writing there was no indication whether or not they will do so.
