Bafana Bafana squad: THREE from TS Galaxy, ZERO from Kaizer Chiefs

How the mighty hath fallen. Hugo Broos has announced his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad to take on Morocco and, unsurprisingly, it contains no Kaizer Chiefs players.

Bafana squad contains no Kaizer Chiefs stars

Kaizer Chiefs have no representatives in Broos’ preliminary 34-man group to face Morocco. It’s no real surprise, but still a stark illustration of how things are going at Naturena. As a point of reference, TS Galaxy have three players in the squad. Yes, Given Msimango is heading to Naturena, but let’s not split hairs.

Broos indicated that reduced pre-camp will be held from 31 May 2023 to 7 June and will be made up of local and overseas-based players. Iqraam Rayners is one notable new inclusion and the same can be said for TS Galaxy defender Msimango. Kobamelo Kodisang and Njabulo Blom are also part of the group.
