Hugo Broos has responded in a truly SURPRISING manner to the shocking penalty decision that dashed Bafana Bafana’s World Cup dreams.

Hugo Broos has responded in a truly SURPRISING manner to the shocking penalty decision that dashed Bafana Bafana’s World Cup dreams.

Amidst an official appeal by SAFA to CAF and FIFA, Broos has responded to the penalty and it is NOT what you’d expect…

According to iDiskiTimes, Bafana’s head coach has confirmed that he is not sure if it was a penalty as he could not see the incident properly.

“It’s difficult to see from where I was – I just saw the player on the ground and the referee whistled for a penalty. I don’t know whether it was a penalty or not; I don’t know,” stated Broos.

He did not comment further on the penalty but did express his frustration towards the overall refereeing. Broos felt that Ghana was very aggressive and got away with a lot of fouls.

“I congratulate Ghana but I congratulate my boss also because we played against a very aggressive opponent and the referee allowed them,” 

“I am very disappointed in the result but I’m proud of my players. But I have to say, the referee today allowed Ghana to be too aggressive, I have nothing against aggressive play but it has to be legal aggression.” expressed Broos.

Although Broos did not see the penalty, he did acknowledge his players frustration and is fully behind his side.

All hope is not lost as Bafana Bafana still have two potential lifelines.
