Bafana Bafana latest | Bernard Parker backs Hugo Broos’ men to beat Ethiopia

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Bernard Parker has offered a message of support to Hugo Broos’ men as they prepare to take on Ethiopia.

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Bernard Parker has offered a message of support to Hugo Broos‘ men as they prepare to take on Ethiopia.

The nations will lock horns in back-to-back 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Saturday, 9 October (away) and Tuesday, 12 October (home).

And Parker, who faced the Ethiopians before and scored an own in the return leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, warned that Bafana Bafana will be facing a team with speedy players.

However, he feels Bafana Bafana have enough quality to counter that and come out tops against Ethiopia.

“They have speedy players,” said Parker of his assessment of Ethiopia, adding “we have the skill to be able to counter them.”

“We are dangerous from set piece situations and when we get them, we need to make them count for us,” says Parker.

With six points at stake for the two matches, Parker believes getting four points out of a possible six would be good for Bafana Bafana.

“We need to target to get six points from these games. I think if we can come out with four points, it will be good because then all the pressure is on Zimbabwe and Ghana going into the last two games,” added Parker.
