Bafana Bafana won’t need any motivation for their clash against defending Fifa World Cup Champions France according to head coach Hugo Broos.

Despite creating numerous opportunities to score, Broos’ side played out to a goalless draw against Guinea on Friday evening and they’ll be desperate to change their fortunes around.

Bafana vs France: Updated squads

“The players will be motivated against France,” Bafana head coach Hugo Broos said ahead of his side’s clash.

“We don’t have the chance every day to play against the World Champions. I’ve heard that it will be a full stadium. There will be a lot of interest and the players from South Africa can aim to show something.

“After the World Cup qualifiers, we saw there were flaws in the younger players, such as a lack of strength and power. I tested them out.

“We then started to scout the older players for Bafana and players with power like Goodman Mosele. The door is not closed to older players.

“Monare is the oldest in our squad and has had good performances in the Confederation Cup for Orlando Pirates.

“Lyle Lakay is also 30 and has been good for Sundowns in the Champions League. The upcoming two games will be interesting, I want to see if the players will improve the quality of the team.”

Bafana’s friendly against the reigning world champions France on Tuesday, 29 March at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy has been sold out.

The match will kick off at 21:15 SAST. While there’s no confirmation on broadcast details just yet, reports suggest the match will be live streamed on SABCSport’s various online platforms. This website will be providing you with live coverage 30 minutes ahead of kickoff.
