Arsenal found themselves on the wrong side of the second quickest goal in Premier League on Saturday.

Philip Billing stunned the Emirates as Bournemouth flew out of the blocks.

The Cherries midfielder now sits behind Shane Long in the record books. Long’s strike was timed at 7.69 seconds back in 2019 while the Billing goal against the Gunners was officially record as 9.11.

Arsenal fail to clear the danger

Starting the day second from the bottom in the Premier League standings against the league leaders, Gary O’Neil’s side attacked down the right through Dango Ouattara. He crossed into the box and when Gabriel Magalhaes didn’t clear, it was up to Billing to make history.

Arsenal were losing at half time which means that as it stands they sit only two points ahead of Manchester City.

City enjoyed a pain free afternoon as they cruised to a 2-0 win over Newcastle in the early kick-off of the day.
