A return to Bafana Bafana might be impossible now under Hugo Broos if your name is Andile Jali. The midfielder sounds like he has not chosen the best of words to react to the controversy.

ANDILE JALI OVERLOOKED FOR BAFANA BAFANA

As local football fans have all learned with huge surprise, Jali has been repeatedly omitted from Bafana Bafana despite stellar displays for Sundowns in the PSL and most importantly the CAF Champions League.

Having been asked about the decision, coach Broos has said he knows Jali quite well but he is just looking for younger players and different playing attributes in his midfield.

“I know Jali very well because he played in Belgium. And this is a choice I made from the beginning. And I’m still OK for myself with that choice,” Broos said via TimesLIVE on 14 March.

“So I will try other players. Jali is an older player too. So I think that with the younger players I have now, I am [also] looking for other types of players in the midfield,” he added.

ANDILE JALI RESPONDS TO HUGO BROOS

Every Bafana Bafana fan was left rather eager to hear what Jali has to say about the continued snubbing.

During a chat with Robert Marawa this week, the 31-year-old player from Matatiele believes that Broos simply has a mysterious issue against him.

You see if I was the Andile of 2015 I would answer you in a different way or say something I would regret tomorrow and wake up questioning why I said what I said,” Jali said on Marawa Sports Worldwide.

“He says he knows me but he did what he did before he even saw me, but he won’t listen to anyone telling him what to do.

“I’m happy where I am. My coaches are good, they are good, I’m playing well with my teammates, I no longer have as many injuries. I’m really happy where I am and I’m working hard for my team.

“But I’m available all the time.”

The former Orlando Pirates star concluded by comparing his situation to that of a neighbour that does not really like you.

“The coach is like a neighbour that hates you but he doesn’t know why he hates you,” he said.

“Sometimes the neighbour just greets you after a while and you’re shocked at the sudden change after so long. I’m waiting for the neighbour now,” Jali concluded.

Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana are now looking ahead to the 2023 AFCON qualifiers which begin in June.
