Terence Mashego got his first ever goal for Cape Town City following a brilliant solo run past a number of AmaZulu players inside the opening 10 minutes.

Both sides were still at each other’s throats midway through the second half and the play was balanced with less than 20 minutes of regulation time remaining.

Usuthu won a free-kick outside the box towards the end of the match, and the resulting free-kick was whipped around the wall only for Hugo to stretch to his left to make a great save.

Mdantsane settled the encounter with a late winner as he navigated past a few defenders before slotting the ball past Veli Mothwa to make it 2-1 to City with two minutes to go.
