Renowned Egyptian sports journalist Medhat Shalaby has taken a dig at Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane.

According to Shalaby, Mosimane doesn’t understand Egyptian players and their mentality after how he dealt with the arrivals of Walter Bwalya and Mohamed Sherif.

In Shalaby’s opinion, Mosimane should have at least afforded Bwalya to settle before throwing him into the deep end soon after putting pen to paper.

Mosimane sacrificed Sherif for Bwalya despite the former scoring four goals in his first six appearances for Al Ahly.

“It is unreasonable for a player to be playing for El-Gouna and then suddenly making him wear the Al Ahly jersey and play nearly after signing. It doesn’t make sense,” said Shalaby on his show on OnTime Sport TV as per Kingfut.

“Mosimane doesn’t understand Egyptian players and their mentality.”

“Walter Bwalya signed and played 48 hours later and thus you put him under terrible pressur,” said Shalaby.

Shalaby, however, believes Sherif would have stood a chance of playing if he was scoring goals for the Red Devils.

“As for Sherif, he should have had a chance as long as he was doing well and scored goals for the team,” he concluded.
