Al Ahly board member: We reject anyone who questions Mosimane

Al Ahly board member Tarek Kandil has thrown his weight behind Pitso Mosimane as criticism towards the South African coach refuses to die down.

A section of Al Ahly fans is still not convinced that Mosimane is the right man to lead the club’s technical team despite his numbers speaking for themselves.

Just before the FIFA international break, Mosimane guided Al Ahly to a 5-3 Cairo derby win over Zamalek.

However, the 57-year-old mentor was still met with criticism from his naysayers, and Kandil admits that he was amazed by what was said about Mosimane.

Furthermore, Kandil said as the Al Ahly board, they reject anyone who continues question Mosimane’s abilities as a coach.

Kandil added that Al Ahly aspire to improve on the third position they finished in at last year’s FIFA Club World Cup with Mosimane later this year.

“I was amazed by what was being said, and I felt as if a hidden force wanted to ruin our celebrations,” said Kandil as per Kingfut.

“We beat Zamalek in the derby 5-3, and in about 25 minutes we scored three goals. We produced some impressive football.

“We reject anyone who questions Mosimane. We have a respected technical staff and players at the highest level, and we aspire to reach the highest position in the Club World Cup,” added Kandil.
