Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 0-0 draw against Polokwane City in a tight encounter on Tuesday night. It was Amakhosi’s fifth draw of the season, leaving them fourth on the table on 14 points after ten games.

City got off to a blistering start, but failed to capitalise. Chiefs slowed down the pace, but could not find the back of the net, despite often looking dangerous on the counter-attack.

Chiefs applied plenty of pressure as the half-time break approach, but could not crack the Rise and Shine defence. The homeside came close to scoring the early stages of the second half, but in the end, both sides had to settle for a stalemate.

Elsewhere in the PSL, Bloemfontein Celtic beat Maritzburg United 1-0, with Jacky Motshegwa the only scorer. The win moves them to third on the Absa Premiership table with move to 15 points from nine games, while the Team of Choice dropped two places to 13th with nine points from their eight outings. Not much separated the two sides in the early minutes, but Motshegwa pounced on a defensive error from the hosts to beat Richard Ofori with a well-placed effort.

Aubrey Modiba scored a brace with Reneilwe Letsholonyane adding the third to help SuperSport United to a 3-0 win over high flyng Golden Arrows. The win propelled SuperSport to tenth in the table, with five games in hand.
