Reddy, a long-suffering diabetic, is said to have passed away just after 06:00 on Wednesday.

Reddy had reportedly been battling with a severe illness over the past few days. Sadly, he couldn’t recover from this ailment, and leaves behind a wife and three children.

He was 62.

In a statement, SASCOC expressed its sincere condolences to the Reddy family and friends.

Tubby Reddy was appointed to the position of SASCOC CEO on 1 February 2009 after serving for a period as its Chief Operating Officer.

He remained CEO until 2017.

During his tenure, he had also held the position of Manager (High Performance) at NOCSA between 1997 and 2004, and in 2005 became the General Manager: High Performance at SASCOC.

In a saga that eventually got Reddy fired from SASCOC in 2018, he came under investigation for sending lewd images and messages to female staff.

One of the complainants had her work computer hacked and a forged message sent on her behalf. The fake email apologised for defaming the character of Reddy and blamed the accusations on peer pressure.

The letter claimed that the harassed woman was ‘apologising sincerely to Tubby and his family, for putting them through this senseless and unnecessary hurt and smear campaign’ – and the fallout was nuclear for the ex-SASCOC chief.
