The Sharks have paid tribute to one of their veteran players, Springbok Lwazi Mvovo, after he decided to hang up his boots.

The Sharks have paid tribute to one of their veteran players after he decided to hang up his boots.

Lwazi Mvovo had quietly slipped into retirement after last year’s Super Rugby tournament was cut short by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, he was persuaded to come out of retirement for the recent Super Rugby Unlocked and Currie Cup competitions.

On Thursday, however, the KwaZulu-Natal franchise bid a final fond farewell to their star wing-cum-fullback.

Lwazi Mvovo, 34, played over 200 matches for the Sharks in all competitions, and made 17 appearances for the Springboks.
