The Bulls may have left their fans — among the record 41,205-strong crowd — frustrated with their performance and the subsequent result against the Stormers, but Steyn proved once again that he is still the Liefling of Loftus.

Steyn has been one of the greatest kicking flyhalves the game has ever seen, of that there can by no doubt. But Father Time catches up with everyone and at 38 years old, he is used a impact player off the bench more often than not these days, especially with this being his final-ever season before retirement.

However, the legendary Steyn came off the bench in the 55th minute against the Stormers, with Smith hooked off.

And boy, oh boy, did he produce the goods. Steyn pulled off the most perfectly executed 50:22 kick from INSIDE HIS OWN 22.
