The Sharks are out to cement their spot in the top eight, while the Stormers will be desperate to bounce back from a humbling away to Ulster.

Sharks DoR Neil Powell said that for his side the derby element has to be downplayed as they seek to build consistency.

“The importance for me is the effort that the players put in, as well as understanding their roles and responsibilities,” Powell told Rugby365.

“It might be a big game [in terms of the play-off race], but for us, it is just the next game.

“For us, it is all about our standards and what we want to achieve on the field.”

Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that the returning players are all keen to make their mark in the coastal clash.

“The players we rested last week have all played a prominent role in our preparations this week, which is very encouraging.

“Any South African derby away from home is a tough assignment, so we will have to be as sharp as ever,” he said.
