Stormers coach defends Dweba’s fighting words aimed at Munster

Stormers assistant coach Rito Hlungwani is adamant that outspoken hooker Joseph Dweba will back up his choice words — aimed at Munster — on the field in the final on Saturday.

Dweba caused somewhat of a furore on social media when a Stormers celebration video was circulated online in which he was captured saying ‘we gonna f*ck them up’.

RG Snyman is one of several key players who have recovered from their respective ailments to make Munster’s 30-man travelling squad for the URC final.

Snyman, who suffered a concussion in the quarter-final win over Glasgow Warriors, is among the four players who missed the semi-final against Leinster confirmed to be fit for the grand final in Cape Town.

Italian referee to whistle URC Grand Final

Andrea Piardi will become the first Italian to referee a URC Grand Final after his appointment to this weekend’s title decider between the Stormers and Munster in Cape Town.

The 30-year-old, who will be part of the match officials team for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France, made his league debut in February 2019 when he took charge of Munster’s clash against the Southern Kings and has gone on to make 35 appearances and seven in EPCR competitions.
