The 2024 URC Grand Final will be staged at one of rugby’s most revered cathedrals as the Bulls face off against Scotland’s Glasgow Warriors at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday 22 June.

As the highest-ranked team to qualify for the Grand Final, the Bulls have won the right to host the big match.

What time is kick-off?

The Grand Final will kick off at 18:00 South Africa (17:00 UK & IRE) on Saturday.

The game will be the 17th final in the league’s history, when previous versions of the competition are taken into account.

The Bulls are making their second appearance in the decider in just three seasons while Glasgow Warriors have returned to qualify for their fourth final after reaching the showpiece game in 2014, 2015, 2019.

For the third season in a row, there will be a new winner of the URC as Glasgow Warriors defeated defending champions Munster to secure a date against the Vodacom Bulls.

For the Bulls, it will be their first home final in franchise rugby since 2009 where they defeated the Chiefs in the Super Rugby decider.

Those not in attendance can stay in touch with the action on TV. SuperSport will act as host broadcaster with RTE (Ireland), Premier Sports (UK & Ireland), SuperSport (South Africa), Sky Italia (Italy), Flo Rugby (USA) and URC.tv. (Ireland and worldwide) providing coverage.

Bulls group effort

Jake White said that while he would like to take all the credit for the Bull’s great season it has been a team effort.

“I’d like to take all the credit, but it’s a group effort,” White said.

“I’ve got Edgar Rathbone (the CEO) contracting, we know who we want, and we know the kind of player we need to get. We don’t have strange guys in our squad; they are good guys, solid kids. There’s an ethos about who we try and recruit at the club.

“The coaches, the game plan has been spot on. The board, the CEO, the coaches, we all understand what kind of player we want.”

Furthermore, the Bulls will face Glasgow in what will be the third final under the URC name.

At least one South African team has contested each of those finals. The Stormers beat the Bulls in the first and the men from the Cape would host again in 2023 but came up short against Munster in a tight final.

Glasgow have visited the Bulls at Loftus this term, losing to the hosts in a high-scoring match.
