Connacht had moved out to an early 8-0 lead as the Stormers made a string of costly errors and Mack Hansen dived in at the corner.

It was another brilliant performance from Manie Libbok though, as he got the try assist with a pin-point cross-kick for Angelo Davids to score the first points for the hosts.

Before scoring that try, Libbok had stepped a couple of defenders to thump a kick deep into the Connacht half and he was full of inspired moments on the day.

Libbok scored the second and third Stormers tries as the hosts moved out to a 24-8 lead.

However, Connacht hit back just before the break with Oliver going over to score but Carty couldn’t convert after the ball fell off the tee once he had started his run-up.

The start to the second half was a tense back and forth marked by errors from both sides.

Ultimately the Stormers tried to make sure that Connacht had to play form deep and they defended each yard of territory with their lives.

The Stormers had to make a ton of tackles but clinical finishing ensured they would rack up a 43-25 win over Connacht in the end.

The crucial swing moment was some sharp play from Dayimani to take advantage of a spilled ball for Theunissen to score after the Stormers had just allowed Connacht back within six.

Depending on whether Leinster or Munster come out on top in the second semi-final, the championship match will either be played in Dublin or Cape Town.
