The two Springboks in La Rochelle’s team joined several of their club teammates in ripping off their pants and giving it to their fans before heading down the Aviva Stadium tunnel in underwear.

Wings Raymond Rhule and Dillyn Leyds were part of the La Rochelle squad that retained the European Champions Cup in dramatic fashion in Dublin on Saturday as they recovered from 17 points down to beat the home side Leinster by a single point in a riveting encounter.

After the wild on-field celebrations, the players’ headed for the tunnel, made a pitstop in front of their delirious supporters to gift them with their playing shorts.

CHAMPIONS CUP FINAL MATCH SUMMARY

Leinster looked on course for a record-equalling fifth crown when they went up 17-0 inside a mere 12 minutes of play. 

But they could only add three Ross Byrne penalties from that point and La Rochelle battled their way back into the contest in an incredible and gripping turnaround.

Jonathan Danty, UJ Seuteni and Georges Henri Colombe all went over for the TOP 14 side, in addition to 12 points from the boot of Antoine Hastoy.

51,711 fans contributed to a pulsating atmosphere inside the Aviva Stadium, and the game delivered on all its promise as the battle for glory between two of the best sides on the planet went down to the wire.
