The Springboks are soon set to head into a shortened Rugby Championship in July, while they will then have three Rugby World Cup warm-up games against Argentina in Buenos Aires (5 August), Wales in Cardiff (19 August) and New Zealand in London (25 August) before travelling to Corsica for their one-week camp en route to Toulon for their opening World Cup fixture against Scotland.

Below, we take a look at the 19 forwards we think are ahead of the pack to crack the nod for a ticket to France, although things could of course change quite quickly depending on performances and injuries during the Rugby Championship.

Looking at the group below, the Springboks are blessed to have five World Cup props, with Trevor Nyakane boasting the versatility to play on either side of the scrum.

At hooker, Joseph Dweba is likely to provide back up to Malcolm Marx and Bongi Mbonambi, while we reckon RG Snyman should complete his remarkable comeback with a big selection in the second row.

There are almost too many loose forwards to choose from, but there is every chance we could see Deon Fourie earn a World Cup selection that would have been the furtherest thought from his mind 18 months ago.
