In addition, the beleaguered parastatal also expects power cuts to continue throughout next week.

Good and bad news for Eskom and City of Cape Town customers

However, there was some ‘good’ news in that Eskom load shedding will be limited to Stage 2 and ‘only’ from 16:00 to midnight on both Saturday and Sunday, 16 and 17 July.

The bad news is that anyone wishing to watch the Springboks v Wales third Test decider on Saturday, 16 July at 17:05 will have to either have a ticket to the match, own a generator or inverter – or make alternative plans.

However, there was good news for those living in the Western Cape who receive their electricity via the City of Cape Town.

Those fortunate individuals will have NO load shedding throughout the weekend! 48 hours of LIGHT!

No mention, however, was made of what lies in store next Monday to Friday.
