Forecasts earlier this week had predicted cold, wet an windy conditions in training this week as well as on match-day.

While heavy rain is still forecast for Thursday and Friday (as much as 16 millimetres in total) the latest prediction for Saturday is for overcast and windy conditions, but crucially no rain.

According to respected – and surprisingly accurate – weather service Yr.no, the forecast for Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is for 16 degree Celsius temperatures and 10 knots of wind.

Kick-off is at 17:05.

Following the second Test on Saturday, 21 August, the Springboks will depart for Australasia where they are scheduled to play both their ‘home’ and away matches against the Wallabies and All Blacks.

There has been no confirmation as yet to the dates and venues of those matches.
