Springboks boosted by return from Covid-19 isolation of key forward trio

The Springboks have received a much-needed boost by the return from Covid-19 isolation of hookers Bongi Mbonambi and Scarra Ntubeni as well as No 8 Dan du Preez.

The Springboks have received a much-needed boost by the return from Covid-19 isolation of hookers Bongi Mbonambi and Scarra Ntubeni as well as No 8 Dan du Preez ahead of the first Test against the British & Irish Lions on Saturday, 24 July.

The SA ‘A’ side – comprising 23 members of the Springboks squad – were unimpressive and deserved losers against a make-shift Bulls side on Saturday, going down 17-14 at the Cape Town Stadium.

According to the SuperSport Blitz Twitter account, the trio have completed their self-isolation period following their Covid positive test results. 

There was no further news on a number of other Springboks still recovering from Covid-19 infections, including captain Siya Kolisi, Makazole Mapimpi, Handre Pollard, Frans Malherbe, Lood de Jager and Frans Steyn.
