Springbok lock RG Snyman has undergone surgery after re-rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee last month.

The Springbok second-rower seemed in high spirits post-surgery, giving a double thumbs-up as he faces up to nine months of rest and recuperation before returning to the field.

It has been frustrating last two years for RG Snyman in terms of injuries to say the least.

After joining Munster at the beginning of last season, he ruptured a knee ligament, delaying his debut.

The 26-year-old Rugby World Cup-winner then suffered serious burns in the infamous fire pit incident just a few matches after finally making his debut.

Those burn scars are still clearly evident on Snyman’s right leg. Eina!

Then, upon his return from the burn injury, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for a second time just nine minutes after coming on as a replacement against Scarlets in the United Rugby Championship.
