Earlier in the week Erasmus BEGGED the British & Irish Lions to play a second match against the SA ‘A’ side this weekend.

That cheeky request to help play the Springboks into form ahead of the Test series was met with a firm NO from British & Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland.

Speaking after the SA ‘A’ side beat the British & Irish Lions 17-13 at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, despite Gatland rejecting the offer of another match against his ‘A’ team, Erasmus remained adamant it was still possible.

“We are going to play the Bulls and if there are any outbreaks in the Bulls or the Stormers teams, any positive cases, then the best thing will be for us to play the Lions again on Saturday. That would be the safest,” he said.

“But if everything goes according to plan, we will play the Bulls and they will play the Stormers.”
