A group of 14 players recently gathered in Cape Town for a three-week Springboks camp, which is now drawing to its conclusion. The multi-faceted camp has seen players taking part in some team building exercises and different sporting codes, while there have also been intense fitness and training drills.

This week the Springboks shared an epic photo showing several players celebrating wildly as they changed things up at training. On social media, Kolisi captioned the image by stating: “When your mate @ebenetzebeth4 scores the winning goal in soccer!”

Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber expressed his satisfaction with the strides made at the physical and rugby development camp, and said they were ticking the desired boxes.

“It has been great to see the players’ attitude and their application of what we’ve been working through,” said Nienaber.

“Our focus in the first week was mainly on the rugby fundamentals and building a base from a physical point of view. This week we built on that by working on more specific rugby conditioning to add the off-field alignment sessions.

“We’ll close off the camp in Stellenbosch where we plan to step up the intensity of our field sessions and build on what we achieved.”
