Speedster Rosko Specman, who was soon set to rejoin the Stormers, has picked up a knee injury that ‘doesn’t look good’.

Specman was set to join up with the Stormers again ahead of the upcoming United Rugby Championship home matches against Zebre and Cardiff.

Having made his Stormers debut at the end of the PRO14 Rainbow Cup SA, Specman was in line to link up with the squad on a short-term loan, but with a view to making a permanent move to Cape Town in the future.

The 32-year-old has been with the Springboks throughout most of this year, but only featured in the one-off Test against Georgia at the beginning of July.

After being released from the national squad ahead of the end-of-year tour, Specman returned for what was potentially his final stint with the Cheetahs in the Toyota Challenge Cup.

Unfortunately, he limped off early on in the match against Western Province on Saturday with what could be a serious knee injury.

Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that they will have a better understanding after further medical assessments.

“He will definitely not be playing in the next two games. He was limping after the game and he will go and see a specialist, maybe on Monday.

“Then we will get his opinion, but it doesn’t look good.”
