Kitshoff, who turned 29 earlier in February, is reportedly in advanced negotiations regarding extending his stay in the Cape. His current deal runs until the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

Kitshoff being named captain is a logical decision as it’s a role he fulfilled during Siya Kolisi’s injury absence this past season.

He has played 47 Tests for the Springboks to date and was a key member of the 2019 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok team.
