“CONFIRMED: We are delighted to announce that our much respected Head Coach, Sean Everitt, has extended his contract until 2024. This is fantastic news that will ensure continuity in our coaching ranks.” the Sharks said on their social media on Saturday.

Sean Everitt, 51, has been at the union since 2008.

He became assistant coach in 2017 before taking over from Robert du Preez as head coach in 2020.

The Sharks have made moves both on and off the field in recent months having sold 51% of the union to American consortium MVM Holdings and acquired the services of Springbok skipper Siya Kolisi.

They also found time to rename their main entrance after former coach Ian McIntosh this week.
