The Blitzboks’ season of woe continued at the Singapore Sevens this Easter weekend when they finished in a tie for 12th-place.

And post-event things got even worse for the Springboks Sevens side when the draw for next month’s 10th and penultimate leg in Toulouse, France was conducted.

The tournament will be played from 12-14 May.

The Blitzboks were drawn in Pool C alongside Fiji, hosts France and the USA.

Fiji are currently ranked third, France fourth and the USA in eighth place.

The Blitzboks slipped to seventh after their performance in Singapore.

Meanwhile, Pool A should see New Zealand face straight-forward progress to the Cup quarter-finals after the log-leaders were drawn alongside Uruguay, Kenya and Canada – none of which are in the Top 10 of the standings.

Pool B comprises Argentina, Great Britain, Spain and Germany, while Pool D will see Samoa, Australia, Japan and Ireland battle it out.
