The Blitzboks lost 28-7 after trailling 14-0 at half-time.
It was a tournament to forget for the Blitzboks who reached the quarter-finals despite two defeats in their three Pool B matches.

The Blitzboks kicked off their campaign with a scrappy 12-0 win over Canada, but then suffered shock losses to Uruguay (10-5) and Ireland (14-5).
However, that was still good enough to progress to the Last 8 on points difference.

The Blitzboks will now face Samoa in the 5th-8th playoffs after Samoa lost 19-12 to Argentina in their quarter-final.
Kick-off in that match is 23:30 (SA time) on Sunday.
