The Springbok Sevens side were walloped 31-7 earlier in the day by France, but rebounded to beat Fiji 24-7 in wet conditions at the Stade Ernest-Wallon in what was the final match of Day 1.

Despite their win, the Blitzboks can’t afford to lose to the USA in their final clash on Saturday at 13:49 (SA time) if they wish to progress to the Cup quarter-finals.
