Le Roux featured in all six of the Springboks’ matches during the 1995 World Cup and his centre partnership with Japie Mulder is credited with helping to shackle the All Blacks in the final.

He played much of his early rugby at flyhalf – including three of his appearances at the 1995 tournament – before switching to inside centre for the latter stages of his career.

A multiple Currie Cup winner with the Lions, he finally called it a day in 2000.

POST RUGBY

Le Roux was a founding member of SARPA – the South African Rugby Players’ Association – in 1998 which he presided over until 2008.

He established a range of other companies in the years that followed, but spends most of his time at Crown River Safari, his luxury lodge on Medbury Farm outside Grahamstown.

He has numerous other business interests, one of which is Unite SA which he co-founded in 2019.
