WHY SPRINGBOK CAPTAIN NEEDED SURGERY

The Springbok captain decided for surgery on the knee he hurt during his sides 22-22 draw in Durban against Munster. It was his final game at the Shark Tank.

It is unclear if Kolisi will indeed lead the Springboks in France when South Africa defend their World Cup crown.

A South African Rugby Union insider told AFP that the 31-year-old World Cup-winning skipper had seen three specialists leading up to his operation, which he underwent in Cape Town on Friday.
