A parent had to be restrained after grabbing a schoolboy following an Under-16 schoolboy rugby match between Northwood High and Kearsney College this weekend.

The white man was filmed grabbing a black Kearsney College prop from behind, before players and spectators thankfully intervened.
A mass brawl ensued as more players joined in, and the man, who is understood to be a parent of one of the Northwood High players, was restrained by other parents, players and spectators.

It appears the man first approached the referee – who can be seen walking away from him early in the recording – in anger at the referee’s on-field decisions which resulted in defeat for his son’s team.
Ban for the embarrassing parent?
Truly disgraceful scenes. Hopefully a lengthy ban results for the man in question who not only embarrassed himself and his child, but the school as well.
