According a report, the Stormers’ trip to England for Saturday’s Champions Cup quarter-final has been delayed and the team is still stuck in Cape Town.

The Stormers thumped Harlequins in the Champions Cup round of 16 in Cape Town this past weekend, to set-up an enticing quarter-final clash with the Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park in England on Saturday.

But SARugbymag.co.za reports that the Stormers have been dealt a blow to their Champions Cup quest after logistical issues resulted in a delay on their trip to England.

STORMERS STUCK IN CAPE TOWN

The report states that logistical issues with their flight meant that the John Dobson and his charges were still in Cape Town on Tuesday morning.

It is understood that when the Stormers do depart from the Mother City, they will be taking a long-haul trip to the UK, which includes several layovers along the way.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 6.30pm South African time.

Stormers fullback Damian Willemse scored an outrageous individual try to steer his team past Harlequins in the round of 16, but Quins coach Tabai Matson, however, believe the try should not have stood.

“I thought he was in touch, I’m pretty sure… calls like that in big games matter. Whether it was in or out… clearly it made the scoreline widened. You want some of the calls to go your way,” Matson told reporters after the game.
