Handre Pollard contributed 11 points to steer the Leicester Tigers to a 16-6 victory over Edinburgh in the Champions Cup round of 16. They will now face title-favourites Leinster in the quarter-finals in Dublin this weekend.
After the Leicester Tigers had taken the lead in the 53rd minute of the match against Edinburgh courtesy of an outrageous individual try by another Springbok — Jasper Wiese — Pollard lined up to take the conversion to push the home side’s lead out to 10-6 on the scoreboard.
As Pollard runs up and sends the ball flying over to crossbar, a devoted Leicester Tigers supporter can clearly be heard declaring his love for the Springbok star man.
“I love you”, a male supporter sweetly and softly tells Handre Pollard, a declaration which was picked up by a microphone on the sidelines.

Earlier in the game, Handre Pollard also showed great skills and determination under pressure to get the Leicester Tigers out of a tight spot on their own tryline.
Edinburgh on attack, Leicester turned the ball on their own 5m line and instead of kicking the ball out of the danger zone, Handre Pollard quickly surveyed his options and decided to ran from deep before pulling off a beautifully floated pass to the right to help his team turn defence into attack within seconds.
