Duane Vermeulen signing for Munster is luckily an April Fool’s joke

Irish giants Munster have gotten into the spirit of April Fool’s by “claiming” that Springbok No 8 Duane Vermeulen has signed for the club.

Irish giants Munster have gotten into the spirit of April Fool’s by “claiming” that Springbok No 8 Duane Vermeulen has signed for the club.

It’s not beyond the stretch of the imagination that Munster would want Vermeulen (which club wouldn’t?) especially after the shock resignation of their current eighthman, CJ Stander.

As reported by The South African this week, Munster had their request for Pieter-Steph du Toit to sign rejected by the Irish Rugby Football Union.

Instead they settled on Jason Jenkins who was reportedly a target of Jake White’s Bulls side.

Jenkins will join fellow Springboks RG Snyman and Damian de Allende on Munster’s books.

Meanwhile, Duane Vermeulen is expected to turn out for the Bulls in the upcoming Rainbow Cup.
