Dobson to lose top coach to Rassie and Boks?

John Dobson might be looking for a replacement for Norman Laker following the latest comments from Rassie Erasmus.

The Springboks won’t be making the call before the World Cup but Laker is on the radar.

“I don’t want to speculate about a defensive coach now,” Erasmus told reporters.

Rassie states his case

“We will definitely not announce it before the World Cup. It’s good if people discuss it. There is a Jaque Fourie and a Norman Laker. People say Duane Vermeulen, but he is still playing at the moment.

“We discuss it and there are names on the table. We have some ideas and are discussing them internally.”

The DHL Stormers went down 19-14 against Munster in a hard-fought Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final at DHL Stadium on Saturday.

It was a game that could have gone either way and was in the balance until the final stages, but the Irish side did just enough in the end to claim the title.

A crowd of 56 344 came out to witness the showpiece match – the most ever for any DHL Stormers game.

The Springboks management named a new 33-man squad for their second preparation camp in Durban this coming week. Soon after the URC Grand Final between the Stormers and Munster in Cape Town on Saturday, the SA Rugby unveiled a 33-man Springbok squad that will assemble in Durban on Monday, 29 May for a training camp.
