The Bulls have reportedly made a move to help solve their tight-five struggles with the acquisition of a Springbok star front-ranker for next season.

According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, tighthead prop Wilco Louw will join the Bulls on a three-year deal from English Premiership club Harlequins in July.

Louw, 28, represented Boland at Craven Week before turning out for the Blue Bulls U19s in 2013.

Louw returned to Cape Town and made 53 appearances for the Stormers between 2015 and 2020 before heading to England where he represented Harlequins 44 times in the English top-flight.

He played the most recent of his 14 Tests for the Springboks against Argentina at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in 2021.

According to SA Rugby magazine, in an interview with Rapport, Louw said: “I enjoyed my time at Harlequins. It was a completely different challenge, which suited me at that stage of my life.

“Now there is another good opportunity for me at the Bulls. I am excited to join them. I think the Bulls are in a good space. There are incredibly good coaches. I look forward to working with them.”
