The British & Irish Lions have arrived in Jersey for a 13-day training camp.

Warren Gatland and his squad touched down at Jersey Airport to begin preparations for their eight-match tour of South Africa.

Fans and schoolchildren were on hand to welcome the team as they arrived at their hotel in St Helier.

The British & Irish Lions will spend just under two weeks in the island before heading to Edinburgh to face Japan in a friendly match.

The first match of the British & Irish Lions’ tour of South Africa – against the Johannesburg-based, Covid-19-hit Lions – is scheduled for Saturday, 3 July.

The first Test at the Cape Town Stadium will take place on Saturday, 24 July.
