Rosko Specman will be playing the rest of the Rainbow Cup for the Stormers to get some much-needed game time.

The Blitzbok star has officially signed a loan that will see him play the remainder of the Rainbow Cup for the Stormers.

The 32-year-old is currently set to feature in the 45-man Springbok squad that will be announced this Saturday.

Specman desperately needs game time. With the Cheetahs being dropped from the PRO16 Rainbow Cup, Specman has not been playing as much rugby as he requires. ‘Specmagic’ is currently Bok-bound but will need time to cast his magic on the field having hardly featured this year.

This is an opportunity for the star to play rugby at the highest level.

South African derbies present the high-level intensity and physicality that he can expect in the Bok setup.

The Cheetahs winger is expected to have the chance to take on The British and Irish Lions at least once.

Specman could feature for the SA ‘A’ side against the British & Irish Lions on 14 July, where the squad will then be cut down to 35 and 37 players.

His performance in this match will determine if he gets to play for the Springboks in this prestigious series.

Game time now is instrumental to his match-readiness when this moment arrives.

Specman has a world of talent and potential in abundance. It is all about playing at the highest level and if he steps up when it matters.

He joins the likes of Cheslin Kolbe and Seabelo Senatla as Blitzboks that have played for the Cape-based side.

Specman could feature for the Springboks against the British & Irish Lions or the Blitzboks in the Tokyo Olympics. The Lions series only occurs once every 12 years in South Africa. He is already in his thirties so the prestigious tour will no doubt be his first choice.

Imagine making your Springbok debut in a series of this magnitude.
