Pieter-Steph du Toit scoops up World Rugby Player of the Year award
Springbok flanker Pieter-Steph du Toit added a Player of the Year award to his Rugby World Cup medal.

Springbok utility forward Pieter-Steph du Toit scooped up the World Rugby Player of the Year award in Tokyo on Sunday.
The Springboks made a clean sweep at the awards, following their Rugby World Cup triumph on Saturday, grabbing all the major accolades on offer on the night.
Following the memorable night, the Stormers forward faced competition from one of his teammates Cheslin Kolbe, as well as four other internationals.
He was named as World Rugby Player of The Year, following in the footsteps of two compatriots and fellow Rugby World Cup winners.
Legendary flanker Schalk Burger scooped up the award in 2004, after helping the Boks to a second Tri-Nations title.
His feat was emulated by another Bok legend in Bryan Habana, who grabbed the accolade in 2007, following the Springboks’ previous World Cup triumph, where he equalled the tournament’s try-scoring record by crossing over eight times leading up to a World Cup triumph by the Boks.
Du To it’s award came just after coach Rassie Erasmus was named Coach of the Year, with the Springboks selected as Team of the Year.
