Speaking to SuperSport, De Sa said Salah’s career needs a World Cup performance which is what he’s looking forward to as Egypt prepare to take on Senegal.

The two African heavyweights will lock horns in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs on Friday with the winner on aggregate qualifying for the finals in Qatar.

De Sa said Salah is the shoulder of the Pharaohs team as he carries the team but he believes he sometimes puts himself under unnecessary pressure.

The former Orlando Pirates mentor added the Egypt technical team spoke to Salah about that, and he believes he can do well if he slows down a little bit.

But what makes De Sa happy about Salah is the fact that the Liverpool superstar is humble and a great player to coach.

ROGER DE SA RAVES ABOUT MOHAMED SALAH

“I think all that is missing in his career is World Cup performance and I think that is what he is looking for,” said De Sa.

“He carries a team a lot and I think he needs to drop off that pressure and play a little bit more. We spoke to him about that, he is lovely man and fantastic human being. To work with him day in and day out is incredible.

“He’s very normal, very humble, a great guy to coach, and he’s always willing to give 120%.”
