Sundowns still ahead, but Pirates’ title chase is back on track.

Mamelodi Sundowns maintain a firm grip at the top of the PSL log as they end yet another round of fixtures still at the summit following victory over Cape Town City who drop down from second-place to fifth.
Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars also scored important home victories to move up to second and third respectively, while AmaZulu registered a second consecutive victory to move up to seventh.
Saturday, 3 February
Orlando Pirates 2-1 Maritzburg United
The Buccaneers bounced back from a shock 3-0 defeat suffered in the hands of Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday to triumph over a spirited Maitzburg side at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The home side went in the lead through a Thabiso Kutumela free-kick in the first half, before Happy Jele headed through from a corner to double the lead after the break.
Fifteen minutes from the final whistle, Siyanda Xulu pulled one back for the visitors but the hosts hung on to walk away with a vital three points.
AmaZulu 2-1 Golden Arrows
Siyethemba Mnguni scored twice in the KZN derby to hand AmaZulu their second consecutive win as they beat Golden Arrows 2-1.
After a goalless first half, Knoxx Mutizwa opened the scoring in the 51st minute for Abafana Besthende but that lead would only last eight minutes as Mnguni provided the equaliser in the 59th minute before finding the winner four minutes later.
Bidvest Wits 1-1 Kaizer Chiefs
Lehlohonolo Majoro found the net against his former side as his 54th minute header levelled matters against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. This was after Ryan Moon put the visitors ahead four minutes before the break.
Free State Stars 2-0 Baroka FC
Goodman Dlamini and Siphelele Mthembu scored in either half to hand Free state Stars a 2-0 victory over Baroka at Goble Park.
Supersport United 4-2 Bloemfontein Celtic
Lucas Moripe Stadium saw six goals go in as Supersport United registered only their second win of the year, coming back from a goal down to beat Bloem Celtic 4-2.
Jacky Motshekgwa score in the 18th minute for the visitors before Mogakolodi Ngele responded for the hosts in the 32nd minute.
Seven minutes later it was the turn of new signing Evans Rusike as he netted in to put the home side ahead. Ndumiso Mabena found the equaliser for Celtic early in the second half, but a further two goals from the hosts, courtesy of Aubrey Modiba and Teboho Mokoena, ensured a much-needed victory for Eric Tinkler’s men.

Cape Town City 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns earned their first ever win over Cape Town City through a Khama Billiat volley which came after superb work down the flank from Percy Tau.
