Kaizer Chiefs are sixth on the log after being outfoxed by Cape Town City at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night.

Amakhosi were the brighter of the two sides in the opening exchanges but were kept out by City keeper, Peter Leeuwenburgh, who made several stunning saves to keep wave after wave of attack out.

The game settled down in the second half, and the visitors gradually got into the game as they enjoyed a lot more of the possession.

They were rewarded late in the game, where a moment of madness saw Virgil Vries leave the goal line exposed, following a corner kick, allowing Edmilson Dove in for an easy goal.

City were later reduced to ten men when Zolile Kewuti hacked down Siphelele Ntshangase, but held on for their first ever win over Amakhosi.

Mamelodi Sundowns 0-2 AmaZulu

Defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns were handed their first league defeat in over a year, losing 2-0 at home to AmaZulu, in what was their second loss in the space of three days.

An own goal from Tebogo Langerman plus an Ovidy Karuru strike saw an end to a 28-match unbeaten run, which came shortly after crashing out of the Nedbank Cup over the weekend.
