Mamelodi Sundowns have a chance of securing the PSL title when they welcome Ajax Cape Town at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

While going into this fixture as overwhelming underdogs, neutrals – and every single Orlando Pirates – will no doubt hope the Urban Warriors upset the apple cart, in order to take the title contest to the final weekend.

Ajax themselves are seeking a valuable three points, as they look to eliminate any chance of dropping down to the National First Division, as their current log placing could see them fighting for survival in the off season, slugging it out in the promotion/relegation play-offs.

Form guide

Muhsin Etugral’s men will need no extra motivation to give the contest their all, and will have the added boost of a favourable result in their last outing, as they came out victorious against Baroka at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday.

In what’s been their worst league campaign since the club was established in 1999, they are currently in a good vein of form, as they are in a three-game unbeaten run which has seen them win two and draw one.

They come up against a side who, after a five-game winning streak, stumbled on Wednesday against Maritzburg United, as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Harry Gwala Stadium, just three days after they were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by the same club at the same venue.
