Kaizer Chiefs will look to put a horrid week behind them when they host Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

With just two fixtures remaining in the league, both sides will look to finish strong – starting with what’s effectively a shootout for who gets to finish in the top three, with the visitors also looking to secure a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time in their history.

Form guide

For Maitzburg it’s been a dream season, as they are set to compete in their first ever major cup final, while also finishing in their highest log placing ever, regardless the outcome of their remaining games.

They held log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns to a draw at midweek, just three days after knocking them out of the Nedbank Cup.

Amakhosi on the other hand have lost two of their last three games, shipping three goals on both occasion, with their only victory in this period coming at home against the relegated Platinum Stars.

Finding the net has also been a major issue for the Soweto giants, as they have managed only four goals in their last six games.

Head to head

Chiefs have been dominant over the hosts, and have been one of a few clubs to come out of Harry Gwala Stadium with three points this season as they walked away 2-0 victors in the reverse fixture.

Maritzburg’s last victory in clashes between these two sides came over three years ago, and since then it’s been all Amakhosi, who have won four of their last seven encounters, with three ending in a draw.

Kick off

Kick off is at 14:55 (SAST).

TV and live stream

The game will be broadcast live Supersport 11, with the live build-up starting at 14:00.
